- A founded of Hospice of Pella
- BA in Sociology & Criminology, and a Masters in Social Work from the University of Iowa
- 25 year career working for individuals, children and troubled families throughout Iowa as a clinical social worker
- 10 years Capstone Behavioral Health MSW Licensed Independant Social Worker
- Adjunct Professor DMACC-Newton, police dispatch, wife/mother, medical secretary, bankteller.
- Chairman,Marion County Democratic Central Committee
- Delegate to county, regional, and state conventions
- Active in 2004, 2006, and 2008 caucuses
- Poll watcher for Pella's 3rd Precinct
- Board member of Pella's community theater, The Union Street Players
- The League of Women Voters Corrections Study Committee
- Pella Friends of the Library Board

As Representative
PAT VANZANTE will:
